HOW WOULD YOU DESIGN THE CITY OF THE FUTURE?

This is a good topic for people to discuss what they want for their city in the future. Especially when the government talks a lot about smart city and “15 minute city”.

The government should have a survey and open a discussion for their citizens!

For me, I want to have some gardening area, farm & forest farm, forest park in the city, as natural as possible

I’m collecting nice ideas about this, below are some of them from a blogger:

How would you design the city of the future?

\"\"

1. I will invest in urban farming where I would lock the potential of growing food locally.

2. Build sustainable smart city buildings.

3. Constructing buildings that will last in generations.

4. I will involve the community in the development of the city.

5. I will ensure that there is an efficient public transport.

6. I will put Eco-forward architecture by using natural building materials.

7. Put efficient public transportation.

8. I will ensure that there is robust social planning.

From another blogger (Sammy) with another points :

How I can design the city of the future is a vision that demand studies, commitment, research, planning, hardworking and lot more to achieve. Design city of the future is another opportunity to made some amendment that made the city unbearable to the citizens and make life more easier than now,

Design the city of the future should be people centered, construction, building, infrastructure development, and all it take to have a design city of the future should be people centered, people interest and wellbeing should be the target:

In summary, I will point out some major key factor consider in designing the city for future:

1. Communication: Design the city for future, the demand for free flow of communication should be made unique, extend network provider to every part of the city, cite telecommunications company in the city so that people can easily access their telecom gadget and for urgent attention on other network issues.

2. Transportation: transportation is one fundamental factor that must not be neglected as it involves moving people, goods and services within the city, without mobility nothing is going to workout, construction of high way with traffic lights, construction of overhead bridge where necessary to avoid traffic, part way for motorcycle and people to avoid accident, construction of security checking point at some strategic places and creation of bus stop for commercial vehicle where people can enter motor and also drop.

3. Security station: for security purposes, designing the city for future, security station like police, soldiers, civil defense, Road safety and lot more should be build where necessary.

4. Sport center: A well decorated sport center where people can make themselves comfortable, carried out excercise, and all kinds of competition for pleasure can be carried out should be put in place, e.g, volleyball game, football game, table tennis, and lot more.

5. Infrastructure and development: design the city for future, infrastructure need serious attention, where people can secure job and earn salary for a living.

6. Institution: Design city for the future, institution should be build where people can acquire education, learn skills and others.

7. Authenticity: The great city are places that naturally blend commerce, culture, and street life. They feel authentic. They are rooted in place, with a subtle blend of forms, materials, and other distinctive attributes that are tied to local traditions. open spaces that are suited to climate and customs—public places that encourage social interaction and the shared experiences that sustain local culture.

Conclusion: Design city for future should be walkability and a mix of uses. It should be a place that is targeted at people satisfaction, providing safe environments and open space for public life. Most importantly, it should be a place that is grounded in the unique culture and values of its people while embracing modern technology and the global community. This idea for the city of the future draws on city-building precedents from the past, yet should adds modern approaches to transportation and environmentally sensitive building systems.
